Julian JB Burns, Treasurer

Julian JB Burns is a  Trustee with the SC American Revolution Trust – devoted to the preservation, protection and promotion of Revolutionary War artifacts, intellectual property and historical documents.   He is a retired Army Major General, USA, a Defense Consultant in Armaments, Mobility, Power and trusted Communications and APNT, a former VP in two major US Defense Companies, Board member for the War College, Infantry and Armor Museums, and author of two books on the Office of the Chairman, JCS.

On active duty, he had service on the Russian Border in Germany, Italy and the Balkans with NATO, Israel, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Command on the Korean DMZ. . He was on the personal staff of two Chairmen, JCS, and of the Chief of Staff, Army. He was Commanding General JTF-Israel in the Missile Defense of Israel, and NATO Chief of Ops and Plans in Bosnia-Herzegovina;  DCG V Corps in Albania & Macedonia before establishing the bases in Kosovo, and DCG of FORSCOM, in Homeland Defense.

Upon leaving Active Duty, he was Vice President of United Defense, LP, and later at BAE, INC, overseeing development of combat systems, electric drive, robotics, and guns for the US Army, Navy and Marine Corps, with industries in CONUS, Sweden, South Africa and the UK.  Presently, he is returned to his Home in SC, and advising on a range of Combat systems and concepts. 

JB is a graduate of USMA, West Point, the Army War College, and with a Masters in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. He is married to a fitin’ Texas Aggie, Ruth Ann with 3 daughters and the world’s five best grand kids. JB is an avid sportsman in all sports, in hunting and fishing. He is active in the 250th commemoration of the Revolutionary War and is a published author on national security.
